A few months ago, I was contacted by a package holidays company called Jet2Holidays. I was surprised that they would want me – a small lifestyle blogger and vlogger – to attend their bloggers event but after confirming with the lovely Natalie that they had in fact deliberately sent the email to me and not to someone else with a blog also called Paula Melissa, I was very happy to attend.
It all began with me having to get to Manchester for 1pm. Coincidently, it took me the same amount of time to get to Manny (I have been informed by native Mancunians that no one calls it that) as it did to realise that the ‘sunchester’ aspect of Jet2sunchester was a witty pun in reference to sunny weather and Manchester. Which was quite ironic because it rained the whole day.
I arrived at the event half an hour early – I am either really late or really early… there is no in between.
Bloggers are professionals at the art of networking. Networking is basically staring at someone across the room from you, trying to see if you follow them on Twitter or trying to decide what their blog is about. One girl told me that because my make-up looked nice I was either a beauty blogger or a lifestyle blogger – see, professionals.
Food is the way to my heart and Jet2 were evidently very much aware of this.
The room was a sea of people dressed in bright colours, with glitter on their faces and cameras in their hands. Some of the crazy ones (e.g. me – vlog below) were even talking to their cameras – also known as vlogging.
The whole event was summer holidays themed and Jet2 had four different destinations in the room.
A woman from the Tenerife package holiday told us about one of the biggest water parks in the world, Siam Park and the fantastic zoo, Loro Parque. This is definitely a place on my bucket list, especially for the point in my life when I become an exotic, adventurous person. Until then…
A man spoke about a holiday to Malta, one of my favourite holiday destinations (that I have not yet been to)! He spoke about the rich Maltese culture as well as the up and coming music scene with everyone from Jessie J to Annie Mac to Stormzy performing there.
There were two different stands for Majorca, Spain, just because there are so many different kinds of things to do there. The Sol Katmandu park and resort in Mallorca is more of a family holiday as all ages enjoy the theme parks. Their GIF-making photobooth was so much fun.
The second destination in Majorca was by BH Mallorca – widely known for their partying and over-18s fun! They told us about their resort complex which has 3 different experiences within it. The Stage where DJs perform, the Twisted water park and the Island Beach Club where you can enjoy daytime pool parties. They recreated this whole atmosphere in a mini lounge/bar area, where I took the opportunity of grabbing a cheeky mocktail.
Enjoy the VLOG of the day (and sub to my channel, please and thank you).
Google any of the resorts mentioned or check out the others holidays Jet2Holidays provide or check out their website – http://www.jet2holidays.com/
Thanks for the invite Jet2 and for the great summer hols ideas!
