I am so passionate about world wide social justice and change.

Will you tell your grandchildren in the future that you watched change happen and didn't partake? Will you tell them how you was comfortable and safe so left the status quo as it is? I won't...

I don't know what exactly is going to happen and when, but I'm definitely going to be on the right side.

Wrote a blog post about my journey from feeling super insignificant and helpless to change things in Nigeria to being empowered in practical ways to help.

While I have you here 😉 I just wanna remind you not to become passive or insensitive to injustice. Through the difficulties of this year, we have seen an uproar and demand for justice worldwide like never before. If you find yourself wishing people would stop protesting and find that you like the way things were before, it's because the systems in place benefit you and you may be part of the problem. Naturally, uncertainty breeds anxiety.

To break this chain I've been reminding myself of this truth. My nervousness and anxiety doesn't change the situation and God isn't surprised or confused by where I am. He's there and He cares and even when I don't understand it, He's working. So what's the point of stressing about it ❤️❤️❤️

ANYWAY, this morning I was reading my devo about failures. As a society, we're so obsessed with pretending that we have it all together and never get it wrong sometimes. So, today I want to talk about one of my quote-unquote failures - 2by2.

2by2 was a social pairing bible study app idea I had in 2017 that kinda went viral. But I hadn't thought it through fully, got way too overwhelmed with how many people were interested in it (thousands and it was only me and my sister working on it at the time 😭), so I panicked and just stopped it.

Months later YouVersion (the most popular Bible app) updated their features and started offering the same feature I was doing with 2by2 - joint plans with friends. I felt a bit defeated. But then I remembered that I just wanted the idea out there, it didn't have to be me who did it. And this is not to say they stole my idea looool I actually volunteer with YouVersion as a content reviewer so this is noooo shade AT ALL to them 😅

This line stood out to me from the devo: "God shows us, over and over again, that our failures don’t disqualify us; they prepare us."

Now with my current projects, especially @shehhpodcast, I'm a lot better at building a strong foundation that will be longlasting ⚡

I can't believe my sister Sharon is starting college now 🥴 I literally remember her being born the other day 😪 yikes! I saw this tweet that was like, can you believe your siblings have their own full lives, completely removed and separate from you. Sounds obvious but deep it, especially when they're younger than you, it's easy to forget that.

So proud of my baby sis. No one laughs at my jokes and gasses me up like Sharon. She's not allowed IG yet (and I thought my parents were strict on me and @pamela_pamzie growing up 🙃🙃) so I'm free to say nice things about her here without her getting a big head kmt 🙇🏾‍♀️😂

In my study this morning, I kept being reminded that I should stop making myself the centre of wisdom 🥴

It's very easy, in an age of the Internet and socials to think that just because information is so accessible that everyone's an expert. Yes we can do some research but there is a definite place for those who have dedicated their lives to a particular area. Actual experts.

Wisdom says: "Yes, I know a little bit but not enough to make informed decisions and statements about this. Let me get advice from people who are ACTUALLY qualified to give advice on this." ⚡

Let's normalise this.

You don't always have to have an answer. God was reminding me of this because I put so much pressure on myself to always be 'on job' and ready to go with advice and knowledge. Beloved, rest 😭

You aren't the centre of wisdom, He is 🙇🏾‍♀️
